Researchers evaluated a neuroimmune treatment combining angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7), melatonin, 5-methoxytryptamine, and cannabinoids in 100 patients with advanced solid tumors who had exhausted standard treatment options. Compared with a historical group that received pineal indoles and cannabinoids without Ang 1-7, patients receiving the full regimen had higher rates of disease control and tumor regression.

At three years, 37% of patients receiving the Ang 1-7 combination were alive, compared with 19% in the comparison group. Disease control was reported in 67% of patients receiving the full regimen, and objective tumor regression occurred in 23%, suggesting that adding Ang 1-7 may have contributed to improved outcomes.

Because this was not a randomized controlled trial and relied on a historical comparison group, the findings cannot prove that the treatment caused the improved survival. Larger, controlled studies are needed to confirm effectiveness and safety, but the results support further research into cannabinoids and other neuroimmune signaling compounds as potential complementary approaches in advanced cancer care.
